Omega Warrington Ltd announces Miller Homes as phase one house builder
Omega Warrington Limited (OWL) is pleased to announce that Miller Homes will be the first housebuilder to build new homes on Omega South. The announcement comes after significant interest last year from a variety of major national housebuilders when the opportunity was put out to market.
Outline Planning Permission was granted 1 June 2016 for 1,100 new homes on Omega South, including 20% affordable homes, local shops, restaurants and cafes, a public house/ bar, care home, and hotel. This area has been divided into plots which will be delivered in phases over the next 10 years, depending on market demand.
Miller Homes has purchased a plot and will be the first to develop their site, situated just north of Lingley Green Avenue, between Sophia Drive and Whittle Avenue, subject to obtaining full planning permission. The development will comprise 200 high quality homes, including homes for private sale and affordable homes.
Andrew Sutherland, partner in OWL commented: “The arrival of Miller Homes on Omega is the first step in delivering a whole range of quality new housing, including affordable homes for the area. We are proud that Omega will now not only contribute to the local economy but also respond to the growing local housing need.”
Construction of the new homes will commence once further planning (Reserved Matters) permission has been achieved. Preparatory work has started on site to build the necessary infrastructure to support new homes such as an access road linking the recently constructed Sophia Drive to the Lingley Green Avenue/Whittle Green Avenue roundabout. More details of this can be found on the Omega website’s construction pages (http://www.omegaopportunity.com/community/construction/).
Timescales and progress of the planning and construction of the new homes will be communicated via regular newsletters from Miller Homes and on the Omega website.
