Opening of Premier Outlets Center, Ringsted Heralds new Era in Danish retail

The 19 acre (7.5 hectare), 64 unit scheme is the first factory outlet centre in Denmark and was opened by the Mayor of Ringsted, Mr Niels Ulrich Hermansen and representatives of both Miller and TK.

Over 65% of the centre’s units have been either pre-let or are in advanced stages of negotiation.

Retailers at the 125,000 sq ft (12,000 sq m) Premier Outlets Center include international names such as Nike, CK Underwear, Levi’s, Mango, Puma, Josef Siebel, Home & Cook, Ecko, Cafe Coton and Le Creuset as well as Danish brands including Samsoe & Samsoe.

Phil Miller of Miller Developments comments: “As the first factory outlet development in Denmark, the opening of Premier Outlets Center in Ringsted signals the start of a new age of the Danish retail offer.

“With premium brands already secured, and several more in advanced negotiations, the centre is unique in what it has the offer the consumers of Denmark and southern Sweden.”

Robert Anderson of TK Development adds: “We are very proud to have worked alongside Miller Developments to bring this development to Denmark. The factory outlet sector is well represented throughout the rest of Europe and Danish consumers deserve access to this offer as well.”

The new development follows the success of Miller’s Premier Outlets Center scheme in Budapest, Hungary, which was opened to the public in November 2004. A second phase was completed in August 2006, with a third phase due to open in November 2008. TK Development has recently developed a factory outlet centre in Prague, Czech Republic, which opened its doors in mid November 2007. Plans are in place for a second phase at this scheme.

GVA Grimley has been retained as letting agent on the scheme.
