The Omega site offers an almost unrivalled opportunity to create a commercial location of great significance and its development is a key priority in our ambitious growth agenda.

Creating employment opportunities
Granting of the initial consents took a number of years and the development activity stalled from 2008 through to 2013 as a consequence of the global recession. Since the start of 2013 however, almost 3,000,000 sq.ft. of logistics and manufacturing units have been constructed for a range of major occupiers. These comprise Brakes, Hermes Parcelnet, Travis Perkins, Asda, The Hut Group and Plastic Omnium, making Omega the pre-eminent logistics development in the North West of England.
Further logistics and manufacturing activities are ongoing and recently Domino’s was secured for a new 110,000 sq.ft. dough manufacturing facility which is due to complete in 2017. The development’s first speculative development, funded by London Metric, for approximately 356,000 sq.ft. of logistics space is under construction and due to complete by the year end.
Creating a new community
The development as a whole will be set within a network of vibrant landscaped woodland, parkland, and wildlife areas including a 35-acre “Green Heart” at its core providing high amenity space for all. A new Primary School was completed in September this year, ahead of the consented housing which will be developed over the next 8-10 years on the southernmost portion of the site.
The first houses will be ready for sale in 2017.
