LLOYDS TSB Sails into Quay 2

The deal will see Lloyds TSB Bank’s private equity subsidiary LDC establish its first permanent office in Edinburgh as the company takes the top floor of Quay 2. This penthouse office covers an area of just over 3,000 sq ft.

LDC is the third financial sector firm to sign to this landmark development – following earlier deals with Barclays and Baker Tilly.

Pamela Grant, director of Edinburgh Quay Ltd, said: “Yet again, we are attracting strong covenants to Quay 2. The Lloyds’ deal reflects the quality of space taken and as our third finance corporation, reaffirms the growth and strength of the financial sector in Edinburgh.”

Chris Street, Senior Estates Manager for Lloyds TSB, states: “LDC wanted a small, high quality office which will become their public face. Quay 2 provided the right space, the right corporate image and the right level of accessibility.”

Located in the Exchange District, with the canal basin at the heart of the development, Quay 2 completes the regeneration project that has transformed the area around Lochrin Basin in Fountainbridge.

Quay2 adds to 112,154 sq ft (10,419sqm) of office and restaurant space and over 60 luxury apartments constructed as part of Phase 1 and completed in December 2004.

Quay2 is the second phase of Edinburgh Quay Ltd’s mixed-use development, a joint venture between Miller Developments and British Waterways.
