Fremlin Walk, Maidstone

Opened to critical acclaim in March 2005, Fremlin Walk is a 350,000 sq ft (32,500 sq m) redevelopment by Centros Miller of the former Fremlin's brewery site in Maidstone.  The scheme was quickly adopted as a focal point for retail in the town.  With a curved open shopping street which leads from Marks & Spencer on Week Street to the anchor department store, House of Fraser, and numerous pedestrian links from existing adjacent streets, Fremlin Walk was quickly established as a prominent retail destination in Maidstone.  In addition, a new public open space was created opposite the town's museum.

With an 800-space car park and 50 new shops including House of Fraser, Zara, Next, H&M, TopShop/TopMan, Oasis, Jane Norman, Wallis, La Senza, Republic, USC and Principles.

Winner of a Gold Award in the British Council of Shopping Centres (BCSC) Awards 2005

The development was forward sold to Land Securities plc.
