Realising the 134 acre site's potential from the start, in 1990 Miller adopted a long-term strategy, insisting on the highest quality in every aspect of the development process.
Richard Meier, one of the world's leading architects, was instructed to masterplan the site. Then, underscoring our commitment, we invested millions of pounds in advance infrastructure, including hard and soft landscaping, to help potential occupiers envisage what was being created.
In 1995 when the first occupiers began to move in, we maintained our commitment to quality by commissioning award-winning architects to create bespoke and iconic buildings. To ensure continuing quality, we put in place strict guidelines on future development for the Park - with Miller personnel looking after everything from legals and letting to ongoing marketing and management.
Enduring short-term pain for the sake of long-term gain, Miller's upfront investment in the site has created real value over time. Today, Edinburgh Park is home to the national and regional headquarters of a host of top international businesses, including Aegon, BT, Fujitsu, HQ Global Workplaces, HSBC, IF, Menzies, JP Morgan, Oracle, Scottish Equitable, Telewest, Xansa, BAe and The Miller Group.
With the potential to accommodate up to 3.4m sq ft of high quality office accommodation, the future of Edinburgh Park is as bright as its past.
Miller's joint venture partner in Edinburgh Park is CEC Holdings Ltd, a subsidiary of the City of Edinburgh Council.
