Works commence on site of new Premier Inn Hotel in Edinburgh
Works have commenced on the site of a new £2 million 120 bed Premier Inn at Edinburgh Park. Whitbread PLC signed a deal with New Edinburgh Limited, in 2009, to build a hotel at the southern end of the business park which will also include a Costa Coffee.
Pamela Grant, Development Director, New Edinburgh Limited, said: “We are delighted that works have started on site to deliver the new Premier Inn Hotel. This is a key step in the development of our Southern phase for Edinburgh Park and I am confident that once completed, the new hotel facility will be instrumental in attracting more businesses to the park. Renowned for its excellent transport links and landscaping, Edinburgh Park remains a key business address in Scotland’s capital.
“The Premier Inn is located opposite the Railway Station and will become an ideal stop for the business traveller due to its excellent access to the public transport system.”
Kevin Murray, Senior Acquisitions Manager, Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, said: “Edinburgh Park is an ideal location for Premier Inn. Securing this site means we can offer the vibrant business community on the park quality accommodation at an attractive price."
New Edinburgh Limited is a joint venture between Miller Developments and City of Edinburgh Council.
