‘Premier’ progress on new hotel at Edinburgh Park
Works are progressing well on the new 120 bed Premier Inn at Edinburgh Park. Construction commenced in March of this year, following a deal between New Edinburgh Limited and Whitbread PLC to build a hotel at the southern end of the business park.
Works are due to be completed on the two acre site in February 2012 which will see a branded restaurant and a Costa Coffee outlet incorporated into the £2 million development.
Pamela Grant, Development Director, New Edinburgh Limited, said: “The new Premier Inn Hotel at Edinburgh Park is taking shape and works are progressing well. This is a key step in the development of our Southern phase for the park and I am looking forward to seeing the finished building early next year.
“The Premier Inn is located directly opposite Edinburgh Park Railway Station and will be an ideal stop for the business traveller, providing ease of access to the airport, the business park and the city centre. I am confident, that once completed, it will be pivotal in attracting more businesses to the park.”
The new hotel also boasts conferencing facilities which will be of great benefit to the existing park occupiers.
Kevin Murray, Senior Acquisitions Manager, Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, said: “We are delighted with the progress being made on our new Premier Inn hotel and are very much looking forward to seeing the completed building next year.
“Edinburgh Park is an ideal location for Premier Inn, offering superb transport links to and from the city. Not only will the hotel bring benefits for the business community, but it will offer the tourist market a new alternative.”
New Edinburgh Limited is a joint venture between Miller Developments and City of Edinburgh Council.
