Pamela Grant Appointed Chairwoman of BCO Scotland

Pamela Grant

Pamela Grant, Development Director, Miller Developments, has been appointed Chairwoman for the British Council for Offices (BCO) Scotland, the first woman to hold this position in Scotland.

A member of the British Council for Offices for four years, Pamela joined the Scottish Committee in January 2010, and succeeds Cameron Stott as Chair for Scotland.

She will hold the position for three years and will have responsibility for the promotion of the BCO in Scotland, producing a variety of events including seminars, technical tours and conferences.

Pamela said: “It is a great honour to be appointed Chairwoman of the British Council for Offices for Scotland and I am very much looking forward to working with the Scottish committee.  I aim to follow on from Cameron’s success and I’m determined to enhance the promotion of the BCO throughout Scotland.  In Scotland there is a real opportunity to branch the influence of the BCO out from the core commercial property centres of Edinburgh and Glasgow, and reach all areas of Scotland.”

Speaking of her plans as Chairwoman, Pamela is enthusiastic about promoting the NextGen initiative in Scotland, which was launched in London over a year ago, aimed at harnessing the talent and creativity of its younger members.

She added: “NextGen is a fantastic initiative which I am keen to promote in Scotland as it encourages the next generation of young professionals to become future leaders of the BCO.  It is important to make new members, especially the younger generation, aware of the value that can be gained from becoming a member of the BCO.”

Joining Miller Developments in 1993, Pamela was appointed to its Board in 2007.  She has a breadth of experience in development projects across the UK and Europe including Pacific Quay in Glasgow and Edinburgh Park, and is currently a Director of Edinburgh Quay Ltd and New Edinburgh Limited and Miller Cromdale.
