Alba 'nets' New Tenant

Alba Business Park, Livingston

Miller Alba Limited is delighted to welcome a new tenant to the Alba Centre, Livingston, in a letting which brings the occupancy level to over 90%.

Bloxx, a web filtering company for medium and large organisations in both the business and public sectors has taken 6,300 sq ft of office space on the second floor of the Alba Centre, on a five year lease.

Alistair Mackenzie, Director, Alba Business Park, said: “We are delighted that Bloxx has chosen the Alba Business Park as their Scottish base.  The market remains challenging but Alba’s reputation as an attractive, quality business park is recognised by companies wanting to settle in a prime business location.

“Alba is entering an exciting phase of development and we are pleased to welcome Athena Smartcard to the Alba Centre.  One of our existing tenants, WCEC Architects, has also taken a further unit on the ground floor of the Alba Centre.  With strong current interest in the remaining units within the Park, we are confident that there will be news of further lettings later this year.”

Pamela Grant, Development Director, Miller Developments, said: “The new lettings at Alba Centre take the building to over 90% occupied which is very refreshing considering the current market conditions.  Alba has a very impressive tenant line up including big named occupiers such as Sky and Elonics, highlighting its reputation as a central Scotland business park.

“Athena Smartcard has headquarters in Japan so it is fantastic that they have chosen Alba as their Scottish office.  WCEC Architects have been a tenant since early 2010 and are increasing their presence at Alba.”

Earlier this year, the Alba Business Pavilions was shortlisted as ‘Best Project up to 2,000 m sq’ at the National British Council for Offices (BCO) awards 2011, following its success at the Scottish awards.

A bespoke office development completed in 2008, the Pavilions boasts a strong tenant line up, including the Jane Moore Trust, Bridge View Consultants Limited and Edinburgh Napier University.
